5 Fails & A Success Is A Success.
Imagine dropping a 100kg bar on your metal plated collar bone. Just that little thin bit of skin between the two. Do that 5 times and then eventually getting out that Clean & Jerk rep. How would you feel?
I thought about how I would also feel if I hadn’t got it. Yeah I would have been a little shot, but after so many failures in the past, it just becomes more of a target or a learning curve. I know what I have to do to hit that weight the next time, or failing that, the time after, etc.
It becomes less personal the more you fail. It’s more understood that you’re simply just pushing yourself to the best of your ability. WHICH CAN ONLY BE RESPECTED BY YOURSELF AND EVERYONE AROUND YOU.
But a word of advice. When you do get the successes and small wins, absolutely own them. Tell people. Put it on your instagram (otherwise it doesn’t count right??). Boast about it. Let it carry your mood for the rest of the week.
Because if you don’t enjoy it, WHY DO IT AT ALL?
